Senior Skills and Employability Manager

Angela West

Angela started her career in international supply chain and logistics, later accumulating over 25 years’ experience in the education sector working in careers, work-based learning, further and higher education.

As a policy lead for degree apprenticeships with HEFCW, she worked with Welsh Government to develop the programme in Wales.  She sat on advisory boards including the Wales Economic Skills Board, Welsh Apprenticeship Advisory Board and the Graduate Outcomes steering group, and contributes to policy, research, and publications at a national and UK level.

In Medr, the new commission for funding and regulation of the tertiary education and research sector in Wales, Angela is Senior Skills and Employability Manager.  She works collaboratively with stakeholders to meet priorities in the commissions strategic plan for learners to develop skills and knowledge for a changing economy.
