Richard Aston

 

Having taken up post in September 2021, Rich is the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) South East Wales Employer & Partnership Leader, with responsibility for a number of teams including Employer Advisers, Partnership Managers, Prison Work Coaches, Disability Employment Advisers, Contracting & Third-Party Teams and Outreach Workers. These teams cover and support Monmouthshire, Newport, Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Caerphilly, Merthyr, Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen local authorities.

 

Rich has worked for the DWP and its predecessors for 25 years, having enjoyed and gained extensive experience from a variety of roles including Head of Director’s Private Office, Senior Operations Leader for Dispute Resolution Services, External Partnership Manager, HR Business Partner and Jobcentre Leader.

 

Rich is extremely passionate about the DWP and the customers and stakeholders it supports and always seeks to build new relationships that enable all to improve the services delivered.
